In the atom there are two parts: the core and crust.
-The core is the central part of the atom and contains positively charged, the Proton, particles and particles that have no electric charge, i.e. are neutral, neutrons. The massof a proton is roughly equal to the of a neutron.
All atoms of a chemical element have the same number of protons in the nucleus. This number, which distinguishes it from others, and characterizes each element is theatomic number and is represented with the letter Z.
-The crust is the outermost part of the atom. In it the electrons are negatively charged. These, arranged in different levels, revolve around the nucleus. The mass of anelectron is about 2000 times less than that of a proton.
