Periodic Table

Periodic Table

| Mr. Brasil's famous Periodic Table |

Without the Periodic Table, made by Mendeleev, one of the most exciting areas of Science, Chemistry, wouldn't have progressed as much as it has done over the years. Dmitri Mendeleev, grouped the elements known to men by its properties and atomic numbers, as it is seen today in modern periodic tables. This picture clearly correlates with Chemistry, as the importance of the periodic table has become underrated over the years. The constant additions of elements and their properties and the labels made by Mendeleev and other notable scientists has made it a lot easier for present and future scientists who work throughout the entire world.

The Periodic Table is a key element to what scientists constantly use until today. The concept of it is basic, with various groups such as the non-metals, halogens, alkaline-earth metals and metals consisting of it. There are constant terms such as periods, groups and blocks states the basic laws of the grouping of elements, and laws such as the Periodic Law. This states that when the elements are arranged in an order of increasing atomic mass, certain sets of properties reappear periodically.

Fun Fact: Mendeleev predicted that within a period of 10-20 years (made this prediction in 1871) that the existence or properties of three elements would be discovered. The discovery of all three elements was completed by 1876.

Fun Fact: All of the elements in a period have the same number of atomic orbitals.
